“Don’t worry, sweetheart!  I’ve got you!”

America held his wife’s hand tightly in his as she was heaving and pushing.  He had never seen _________ in so much pain, and he wasn’t letting her go through this alone.

After what felt like hours, the sound of a baby’s cries could be heard in the room.  America turned around to get a look at the newborn baby.

“Congratulations!!” the doctor exclaimed… in a disturbingly familiar Russia accent.  America felt his heart sank as he saw the baby in the tall doctor’s arms.  It had _________’s beautiful (color) eyes… and a small patch of platinum blonde hair that matched Doctor Russia’s.

“NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO-“

--

“-OOO-OOF!  GAH!”

America found himself suddenly collapsed on the floor in front of a waiting room couch.  England was collapsed on top of him.

“About time you two woke up,” Canada commented, standing over them.

“England, get off me!”

“AAAAAAUUUUUGH!!”

A painful scream came from the maternity ward.  Everyone outside froze in place.

“Mon deau…” France said quietly, “That baby should be born at any minute…”

The day was July 4.  While most of America’s friends would be celebrating his birthday with him, something rather… big came up to say the least.  To be specific, America’s pregnant wife _________ had gone into labor, and the party was cut short so they could get her to a hospital.  Originally, America was planning on going through the whole thing with her.  However, he was waiting outside with England, Canada, and France, on account of _________ threatening to bite his head off if he came within two feet of the door.  He was waiting on a couch alongside England, and at one point during the 20 hours he was in the hospital the two of them fell asleep side by side.  _________’s friend Hungary, who had come by to give her some support, took a picture of it thinking it was cute and posted it on Facebook before she walked into the room to help _________.

“Jesus that was scary!” America exclaimed to himself as he stood back up, “I feel like I’ve been in this hospital forever!”  Canada handed him a cup of coffee to help him keep awake.  “Thanks, Canada.”

“You’re welcome,” Canada replied, secretly happy he got his name right this time.

“Guys, can I tell you something?” America’s three brothers walked over to him. “I’m… kinda nervous.  Do you think I’m ready to be a father?”

“What makes you think you wouldn’t be a good father?” Canada asked.

“Well, I’ve never really DONE something like this before!”

“The two of you took the classes together, right?” England said, “And ever since the day you found out _________ was pregnant, you’ve been with her every step of the way.  You even made the baby’s bedroom all by yourself.”

“And you know that you can always go to us if you need help.” France added.

“Thanks guys…” America said.

The sound of a crying baby suddenly came from the room _________’s room was in.  Everyone turned their attention to the door.  America was frozen in place.

It felt like an eternity until the nurse gave them the okay to come in.  Slowly, starting with America, the four of them walked in.  On the hospital bed was _________, her (color) hair a little disheveled, and her (color) eyes darkened a bit, but she was never the less smiling.  Hungary was looking at her, tears in her eyes.  America’s eyes shifted to the bundled blanket in her arms.  Slowly, he walked over, seeing a tiny baby.  It’s skin was a little red, but it had his blonde hair, and he imagined it’d have _________’s (color) eyes.  Slowly, America broke into a teary smile.

“Congratulations, you two,” the nurse said, “You have a beautiful baby girl.”

Though America was hoping for a boy, he had never felt happier.  He kneeled down to get a closer look at his new daughter.

“What should we name her, sweetheart?” _________ asked softly.

America looked down at the baby in _________’s arms.  Strangely, his new daughter’s face… oddly reminded him of Lady Liberty.

“… Liberty.”  America said with a proud smile.

“That’s a strange name for a child,” Hungary commented.

“… I love it,” _________ replied, “Our little Liberty.”

The moment was interrupted by a soft booming outside.  America could easily make it out to be the sound of fireworks.  It didn’t take long for the nurse to find a wheelchair, nor did it take long to get the family to a window.  Outside was a lovely display of colors and lights, making America and _________’s smile widen.  America looked down to see his wife whispering to Liberty.  Asking if she could hear the fireworks, and that she couldn’t wait till next year when she could finally see them for herself.

It was quite a big birthday for America… and definitely for Liberty.
Happy 4th of July everyone!
