It was a lovely day in Kanto, and you have just turned 10 years old. In most places it was just an age, but where you’re from, reaching 10 meant that you were ready to face the world of Pokemon. You had your gloves, clothes, pokebelt for your pokeballs, a backpack filled with any essential equipment for your journey from extra clothes to food and water, and a badge case for badges. All that was missing was your Pokedex, Pokeballs, and your first Pokemon.
Well, you WOULD have those had it not been for the fact that just a few days ago, there was a freak accident at the local Pokemon lab, meaning that you wouldn’t be able to get your first Pokemon. You were mailed your Pokedex and Pokeballs, meaning you could technically start right now, but without a Pokemon you were powerless.
You walk out to where the town borders end; there was tall grass in the path out. Pokemon would ALWAYS hide in tall grass and caves, and you were in no position to be going out there without any sort of help or protection.
“Perhaps I could be of assistance?” a raspy voice speaks to you from behind.
Startled, you turn around to see yourself face to face with a mysterious old man. He had a black lab coat, a blood red shirt, and basic pants on. He looked almost exactly like Professor Oak, except for his threatening red eyes.
“W-Who are you?” you ask nervously.
“My name is Professor Kao, and I’m here to make you a deal, _________,” he answers.
“H-How do you know my name!?” you ask in shock.
“Oh, I know plenty things about you, _________,” he answers calmly, reaching into his coat, “And I want to offer you some assistance… you’re just starting to become a Pokemon Trainer, aren’t you?”
“Y-Yes,” you answer, “What could you offer me?”
“I’m a Pokemon Professor; I want to give you a Pokemon to help you on your journey… In fact, I’m feeling generous today, so I might give you two.”
“Really?” You say in surprise. Two Pokemon would be a great way to start your journey.
Professor Kao takes out a large case and sets it on a table in front of him. Where did the table come from? At this point you were better off not asking. You approach the table as he opens it. The contents were 14 Pokeballs, each in pairs according to their color. The pairs each were Pink, Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, and Purple. Just like Kao, they each seemed to give off their own dark energy.
“Each of these Pokeballs contains a very powerful Pokemon; one that should take you through your journey with ease. And like I said earlier, you’re allowed to take two.”
“What pokemon are in them?” you ask.
“Oh, I can’t tell you that; it’s a surprise~!”
You look at each of the pokeballs with curiosity, growing more and more suspicious.
Finally, you ask, “Alright; what’s the catch?”
“I was thinking you were going to ask that. While I wouldn’t call it a catch…” he explains, “Each of these pokeballs come in pairs and you can only choose one pair. No more, no less... Plus, I’m assuming that you’ve guessed that these aren’t ordinary Pokemon; I’ve personally bread them myself to be the most powerful Pokemon on this planet, and with great power comes great responsibility, mind you.”
You can remember how many times your mother has always told you that phrase. She wasn’t too keen on you becoming a Pokemon Trainer at first for that reason.
“Now… do we have a deal?” he asks, holding out his hand for you to shake.
You take a few seconds to look at Professor Kao; you hardly knew him and he seemed hardly trusting. You look down at the Pokeballs as well; As much as having two Pokemon to start with, you didn’t even know if what you get would be powerful or not or what kind of Pokemon they even were. Still, you might not be able to have an opportunity like this ever again.
“I accept your deal,” you answer him, grasping his hand and shaking it firmly.
“Very good… Now, I’ll leave you to choose which Pokemon you’ll take…”
“Well, which would you recommend?”
Professor Kao let out a small laugh, “I can’t say that, of course. This choice is purely your own… now, choose, my friend… and choose wisely.”
With that, Professor Kao was gone, as mysteriously as he came, leaving you with the case of Pokeballs. You look down at each of the pairs; Pink, Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple. You could have one and ONLY one pair. Each one would be powerful, but you didn’t know what you’d choose until it was too late…

Pokemon! [Hetalia: Prussia x Reader]
You fell over onto your pillow halfheartedly as your opponent's Crobat knocked out both your Pikachu and Serperior.
"Quit beating my Pokemon," you growled as you nudged your albino boyfriend with your toe angrily. He shifted away from you and snickered, "It's not my fault you're so fail at playing this awesome game!" You clenched your teeth and continued to hammer your fingers onto your DSi.
"Shut up," you replied as you watched the Pokemon on the tiny screen continue to kill each other. You squealed in happiness as your Serperior managed to take out Gilbert's Gengar with a quick Leaf Storm, and noogied him as you did your happy dance.
